November 2021: Zoe got brave enough to message Sam after thinking he was cute for the past year. A few weeks later, they had their first date here: River Rock Coffee in St. Peter, MN

Zoe left out a key detail: She was leaving to study abroad for 6 months in January. These expressions describe the feeling well.

From January - June of 2022, this is what their dates looked like. The first 6 months of their relationship was spent in different countries.

June 2022: Reunited! Zoe spent the summer in Minnesota on an internship, which meant many road trips to and from Glenwood, where Sam was.

We enjoyed summer on Lake Minnewaska, as we continue to today

Sam earned the affections of Zoe's 3-legged cat, Lu. The greenest of green flags!

Sam also came to Oregon for the first time that summer

Zoe went to her first Minnesota State Fair (the best state fair in the country)! Pictured is the elephant Sam won her in the ring toss.

October 2022: Senior year at Gustavus gets going, and Sam and Zoe get to have their first semester together on the same campus. And have non-Zoom dates, like this one at the apple orchard.

November 2022: Being in the Gustavus Choir meant they saw each other every day and be one of the "choir couples" alumni talk about

December 2022: Sam and Zoe's last Christmas in Christ Chapel, and one-year anniversary. Time flies!

January 2023: Choir went to the French Riviera (Spain, France, and Italy) and it was just as amazing as it sounds! This was taken at a stop in Aix en Provence, France

May 2023: Spring semester flew by, and Sam and Zoe had a big decision to make about where one or both of them would attend graduate school.

We graduated! And decided to spend the summer at the resort while getting ready to move in August.

August 2023: After another summer in Glenwood, Sam and Zoe drove 12 hours through lots of cornfields and moved to Fort Collins, CO. They both started Masters programs.

Colorado was good to them, and meant being close to Zoe's family. This concert at Red Rocks was fantastic!

The apartment was tiny, but was the perfect place for Sam, Zoe, and Lu to start off. One of the best parts was getting to decorate for holidays. Sam decorated for Halloween, and Zoe for Christmas

February 2024: Fort Collins was full of incredible food and fun things to do, especially trivia on weeknights. It's also where Sam and Zoe found Elliott's, the best martini bar in the world.

October 2024: Sam and Zoe attended their first wedding together. Zoe wondered if she should start taking notes...

December 2024: Just before Sam and Zoe's three year aniversary, Sam planned five nights of surprises for Zoe with hints. This night's hint was "Bright Night"

December 10th, 2024: With 36 plastic rings, one ringbox Christmas ornament, and one actual engagement ring, Sam proposed to Zoe. Through laughing tears, she said yes!

The alleyway in Old Town Fort Collins that Sam picked was pretty isolated, but a random guy walked by and was able to grab a few pictures. Thanks, Random Guy.
