Geneseo, NY

You Know, The Ole Fashioned Way... The Internet!

First came Maryland, then came New York, then came Florida, then came our overseas journey, then came Texas, now it becomes us together forever.

Matt and I met on Tinder in the summer of 2016 in Baltimore, Maryland. We saw an opportunity to making this a lasting relationship because we both went to school in Florida. Matt made the first move to set up a date, and of course, I chose the place. Our first date was at the snowball stand on Joppa and Falls Rd. I had to show Matt a Baltimore classic. Matt tells me he was surprised I told him I wanted to see him again after that first date. But, how could I not? He was kind, sweet, cute, thoughtful, and took initiative. Matt set our next date which was at the aquarium in the Inner Harbor. I knew he was the one when we were both driving to the light rail to head downtown. He called me and asked if I remembered sunscreen. I said, "No" and without hesitation he blurted out, "That's okay! I brought some for you." He is always prepared. We had several dates that summer and we traveled to upstate NY to meet his family. I fell in love with them immediately, too. It must run in the family. We continued our relationship when we both went back to Florida for school. We switched off making the drive from Daytona Beach and Tampa almost every other weekend (he did more of the traveling, you guessed it!). Matt graduated and started working overseas. I had to move back to Baltimore, but we still made it work. Matt planned an amazing trip to Italy and Croatia the summer of 2019. I won't go into detail because my space is limited, but the trip was, to this day, one of the greatest trips I'll ever take. We took some time apart after that trip to do some growing up. But, we never lost touch. Heading into the spring of 2022, Matt asked if he could come out and visit me in Baltimore as he was doing some work in Virginia. I didn't even hesitate. He came for a weekend and it was like no time had passed. He proceeded to invite me to his sister's wedding that May. I said yes, and it was a date. Then, he sprung the idea of a cross country road trip following the wedding in early July. I had never gone camping. I am a girl from the suburbs of Baltimore County! But, as you could have guessed, I said yes. And, of course, we had the time of our lives. We traveled to Badlands, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Glacier, Banff, and Jasper. Once again, he blew me out of the water with the trip he had planned. After I came home from that trip and Matt continued his travels, he called me every chance he got. I knew that was a good sign because the national parks had no service and he never called anyone when we were traveling together. Towards the end of his excursion, Matt called me and we discussed rekindling our relationship. I never lost feelings, even in our time apart. It was a "Heck Yes!" from me when he asked. Fast forward to today... We moved to Texas for Matt's job this past summer and we are still getting settled. Matt proposed to me on our trip to New Zealand. Again, a trip I can't quite put into words. All of our pictures are worth 1,000 words. He proposed after a trip to Milford Sound and a helicopter ride that landed on top of a glacier. It was absolutely perfect. He is absolutely perfect. Our story could be so much longer, but this summarizes us well. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to marry the man of my dreams and my best friend. I knew he was the one since I was 19 years old. He completes me. I can't wait to see what our future together brings! -Katie Katie does a great recap and she also used 3500 of the 4000 characters available so my story will be a bit shorter. I am eternally grateful that I matched with Katie back in 2016. Who would have thought an app like Tinder would actually match you with your soulmate. We must have won the lottery or something. I am so excited that we get to spend the rest of our lives together. She is honestly my best friend. I can't wait to see what the future holds but I know it will be incredible with Katie by my side <3 -Matt
