On Thanksgiving eve 2019, Joe proposed to Kelly at Brighton Ice skating rink. We had plans to attend his annual reunion Hockey Team, the Tonawanda Lightening, where family members of the former players "skate around" and shoot "hockey pucks". When we arrived at the ice rink, we had the whole rink to ourselves! We began to skate around and music came over the speaker. Joe asked Kelly "What do you think of this song?" It was Bruno Mars "I want to Marry You!" He knelt down on his knee and Kelly screamed "YES!" There was no hockey reunion..

Our mutual friends arranged a dinner date where we were set up to meet each other!
