Northern Michigan is a bit remote. The closest major airports to Mackinaw City are Traverse City (TVC) and Sault Ste Marie (YAM) that's 2ish hours away by car. Pellston (PLN) is smaller and 40 min away by car. Saginaw (MBS) is about 2 hours and 45 min away by car. Detroit (DTW) is about 4.5 hours by car. Grand Rapids is 4ish hours by car. The link attached mentions an Amtrak bus that runs from Traverse City once a day.
