Brandon and Ashley met through work at MKTG in Charlotte, North Carolina. They had been friends for over a year, and hung out on many occasions, when Brandon asked Ashley to go grab some tacos and ice cream one night. This wasn’t out of the ordinary, so she didn’t think anything of it, that was until Brandon kissed her after walking her to her car. From that first ‘date’ on, they continued to spend more time together, moving onto dating, then to boyfriend and girlfriend, and eventually fiancés!

As their relationship progressed, Ashley and Brandon eventually began to discuss the prospect of making things permanent and getting married someday. Brandon was receiving many not-so-subtle hints from others to pop the question, but he wanted to wait until the moment was just right. That moment finally came when they were on a long weekend vacation with Ashley’s family at her favorite vacation spot, their family home on Daufuskie Island, South Carolina. One evening, they went to watch the sun set over the water at the beach from two Adirondack chairs at what Ashley calls ‘the spot’. It was a beautiful setting on a picture-perfect evening, except for the blood-thirsty bugs! Not only was Brandon antsy with nervous excitement, both Ashley and Brandon were being eaten alive by mosquitos and gnats. As they both agreed to leave and started to get up, Brandon grabbed Ashley’s hand, pulled her close, and whispered some sweet nothings into her ear. He then stepped back, pulled a ring from his pocket, and got down on one knee to ask for her hand in marriage. Through excited tears, she exclaimed a profound ‘Yes!’ and just like that, they were destined to be the Schroeders!
