Bill and Mallory first met at a mutual friend's birthday dinner. Mallory lived in Salt Lake City at the time, but was in Cincinnati for a work trip. Bill remembers meeting, but unfortunately Mallory does not (whoops!). About a year later they met (again!) on a summer float trip down the Great Miami River and later an epic trip to Lake Cumberland in Kentucky. Eventually numbers were exchanged and Bill asked Mallory out. Their first date was brunch at Taste of Belgium and a trip to Party Source on a beautiful Labor Day weekend.

Last summer, Bill pulled off a surprise proposal at Mallory's childhood home. Under the guise of a work trip, Bill was originally skipping the visit to Edwardsville, Illinois for Mallory's mom's retirement shindig. Little did Mallory know, Bill was plotting to take an earlier red eye flight from San Francisco. Unfortunately for Bill, this was the same evening as the Microsoft Crowdstrike IT outage, and his flight was delayed indeterminately. Undeterred, Bill found an alternate flight out of Sacramento, and sped up I-80E to catch it. Mallory leisurely made her way to Edwardsville, flight unaffected by the outage. Meanwhile, having landed hours late, Bill rushed to have "the talk" with Mallory's dad, then dashed to the house where he would later emerge from the hallway and propose as Mallory arrived. They then got to spend the weekend celebrating with friends and family and taking a well deserved nap.
