La Jolla Cove, which overlooks the ocean and La Jolla Shores, is near our venue and the hotels we've recommended. Walk along the bluffs for some beautiful views of the ocean and, if you make it to the Children's Pool, all the harbor seals. The cove borders the La Jolla Village area, where we're getting married. This little area has lots of restaurants, bars, and boutiques to explore. Beyond visiting the restaurants we've recommended below, Warwick's bookstore is always a good call and the Museum of Contemporary Art recently reopened.
Plenty of beach days to be found in October in San Diego! La Jolla Shores is a dream of a beach adjacent to the cove. There are also kayaks, bikes, and standup paddle boards for rent.
Torrey Pines is a state park/beach in La Jolla just a bit north of our wedding venue. There is a great hike here with incredible coastal views. If golf is more your thing, the Torrey Pines golf course is right next door!
For some more casual options in La Jolla, we love El Pescador, Parakeet Cafe, the Cheese Shop, and the Taco Stand. For dinner, try Catania, Puesto, and George's On the Cove, as well as Cody's and the Cottage for breakfast/brunch. Just a bit south of La Jolla in Bird Rock, you can find our favorite coffee, Bird Rock Coffee, and bakery, Wayfarer Bread. And if you head north into Del Mar, Jake's, Viewpoint Brewing, Board & Brew, and Stratford Cafe are some other favorites!
If you want to explore more of San Diego, we recommend visiting Sunset Cliffs, Coronado, Little Italy, the San Diego Zoo, San Diego Botanic Garden, Moonlight Beach, and Balboa Park. Our favorite restaurants are Mitch's Seafood and Buona Forchetta with an honorable mention to Coasterra for the views and coconut margarita. If you need any more recommendations, just reach out!
