It all started with a simple Snapchat add... David and Melanie were 16 years old. Melanie had recently transferred to Lancaster Catholic high school the year before where they shared a social studies class together. One day, Melanie saw David's name pop up on Snapchat as a mutual friend. Curious, she decided to add him. He quickly sent her a snapchat that simply said, "hey," which was only the beginning to many conversations. Their first date was at a local pizza shop in Lititz, and while it was a little awkward at first, it didn't end there. After they had dinner, Melanie drove David to his Grandmas house, where his parents were picking him up, because David did not yet have his driver's license. Little did they know, that awkward first date would lead to something special. 40 minutes passed of them sitting in Melanie's car, until they finally shared their first kiss, which is a very vivid memory to this day. In that moment, surrounded by the sweet Valentine's Day air, David asked Melanie to be his girlfriend. Over the past 7 years, David and Melanie have created many memories together. Proudly wearing #72 on her face, David was always supported at Friday night football games. They have enjoyed countless date nights, shared laughs, and explored new destinations. David has also introduced her to the "truck world" where they have enjoyed attending many different truck shows and meeting new people. These moments, big and small, were all a part of building their story together. Melanie and David have spent most of their vacation time either on the Chesapeake Bay or in Potter County. Hillside Lodge in particular, has always held a special place in David's heart, and now it holds a special place for both Melanie and David. It was there that, on July 23 2024, David asked Melanie to spend forever with him, forever changing the meaning of that place in their story. Back in their junior year of high school, they never imaged that a simple Snapchat request would eventually lead them to this point in their lives together. From high school sweethearts to now, David and Melanie have grown through every stage of life together. High school graduation, leaving for college, entering the workforce, and now building a house and getting married! What started as young love has blossomed into a bond that only strengthens over time. Now, as they step into their forever, they are grateful for the journey that has brought them here and excited to see what their future brings.
