If you're up for a good hike, Old Rag is only 10 miles from Early Mountain Vineyards and offers beautiful views as well as the option of a fun rock scramble. The Kuniholms have been hiking this mountain every New Year's Day for years now, so it's become one of our favorite hikes!

This area is rich in Civil War history! The Graffiti House is a two-story frame structure, believed to have been built in 1858 and used as a hospital by both Union and Confederate forces. The walls of the second floor contain inscriptions, drawings, messages, and signatures of Civil War soldiers. Tours can be scheduled by calling Cindy Welch at 703-895-4083.
