We're Getting Married!

In September of 2015, Sam and Ryleigh met at a campus ministry at the University of Northern Iowa. After a couple months of chatting every now and then, the two decided to have dinner at Pepper's in Cedar Falls to share their stories and get to know each other better. It didn't take long for them to realize they had more in common than they would have ever guessed, and that God had placed them in each other's lives for a reason. Sam had shared her feelings with Ryleigh in February of 2016, but it took until June for Ryleigh to share hers with Sam. After mustering up the courage, Ryleigh asked Sam to be her girlfriend on July 4th of 2016 by writing "You are my best catch yet. Will you be my girlfriend?" on a softball. Sam saw the message on the ball while they were playing catch, and she said YES! On June 1st of 2019, Sam completely surprised Ryleigh and popped the question at their favorite place to be: a softball field. The next day, after Ryleigh said YES, Ryleigh took Sam to the campus of UNI, where they had met, to ask Sam if she would marry her, and she also said YES!
