2016 – Where it all began 2017 – Bought our first home 2018 – First adventures: New Orleans, New York, and Colorado 2019 – From our hometowns in Virginia to the mountains of Colorado and Wyoming 2020 – Started the New Year in New York City and returned to New Orleans 2021 – Las Vegas, Zion National Park (a favorite!), and another Colorado escape 2022 – New Orleans again, plus New Hampshire, Maine, and Boston 2023 – Arizona and our very first cruise to the Caribbean together 2024 – Bought our second home, took two more cruises—and a very easy “yes” 2025 – Cruises to the Bahamas and Alaska, and climbing mountains in Washington State 2026 – Our favorite destination yet: “I do” In between all the trips and adventures, real life has happened too—bringing both incredible highs and some challenging moments. Through it all, one thing has always been certain: we wouldn’t want to do any of it without each other. 🤍

While on our Western Caribbean cruise, we stopped in Roatán, Honduras. Since I’m usually the one planning our excursions, I signed us up for zip-lining through the jungle. Even though Stephen is terrified of heights, he promised he could handle it. There were 10 zip lines in total as we made our way down the mountainside. As we approached the second-to-last line, Stephen went first, and I followed behind. When I reached the platform, the guide was helping me off my harness when I turned around—thinking Stephen had fallen. But then I realized… he was down on one knee, ring in hand. It felt like everything went completely silent. He asked me to marry him, and even though I had imagined this moment for years, I could barely get the word out… YES! Then, in true me fashion, I panicked and couldn’t even figure out which hand to put out for the ring. The crowd around us started clapping, and I just stood there in total shock—completely surprised and completely sure all at the same time. 💍
