When is the actual wedding day?

Our wedding day is July 22, 2026—just the two of us! We’ll be eloping to the Pacific Northwest for an intimate, private ceremony.

No ceremony—just celebration! The event is a reception only, so come ready to eat, drink, and enjoy the evening with us.

What time does the reception start?

The reception begins at 5:00 PM. Feel free to arrive at your leisure.

Will food and drinks be provided?

Answer

Yes! There will be dinner and a bar available for guests to enjoy.

Where should I stay?

Answer

The reception venue is located in the East Village, and we have a hotel block reserved nearby at The Des Lux Hotel for our guests. If booking online, please use the code “SCHMID” to reserve a room within our block. You are also welcome to book accommodations anywhere nearby. Please note that our wedding reception weekend coincides with the final weekend of the Iowa State Fair, so hotels in the area may fill up quickly. We recommend booking your accommodations in advance.

Is there parking available?

Answer

Yes. A nearby parking garage is available for guests, and there is also paid street parking in front of the venue.

Do you have a registry?

Answer

Your presence at our reception is the greatest gift we could ask for. For those who have kindly asked, we do have a small registry and a honeymoon fund, but please know that gifts are truly not expected.
