In January of 2014, Devin and Heather met in Chicago while starting their graduate studies at Northwestern University in the same prosthetics & orthotics program. They became great friends and enjoyed exploring the city with their classmates and making the most of their year there. Little did they expect that they would both obtain their residencies in Chicago after graduation and their dating story began. Together they enjoy hiking and biking, catching live music, cooking, and exploring new neighborhoods. Chicago has been their home for 6 years and it will always be a special part of their life and future together

On January 29, 2019, Devin and Heather escaped the brutal Chicago winter and headed to Denver, Colorado to vist Devin's brother, wife, and son. On the 2nd day of their trip, they traveled to Colorado Springs for some hiking and exploring. With the help of his brother and his wife, Devin proposed at the historic Broadmoore Hotel surrounded by the snowy mountains. They celebrated their future together with a luxurious night stay at the hotel with champagne, pizza, and room service.
