It’s happening!

At fifteen years old, Keaton and Machella met at a birthday party (shoutout Maddie Torti)! Since Keaton was the only person with a driver's license at the time, he offered to drive a few people to get shaved ice. Without skipping a beat, Machella jumped into the backseat of his car. That night, they both knew they had met the person they were meant to spend the rest of their lives with. Keaton and Machella went on to date throughout high school and college. They both attended St. Louis University, where Keaton played soccer. Keaton and Machella adopted an adorable black lab named Nala, who would be front row at all of Keaton's soccer games. Machella received a bachelor's degree in radiation therapy, and Keaton received a master's degree in civil engineering.  Keaton's job took the three of them to Wichita, KS, where they all currently live.

On a weekend trip back to Kansas City, there were plans to take family pictures for Mrs.Schieffer's birthday. After arriving at the location, Keaton and Machella searched for their group. As they wandered around the park, Keaton stopped and handed Machella a letter. The next thing she knew he was down on one knee and she was staring at a beautiful ring held by her best friend. After saying YES, their amazing photographer Keely, Keaton's sister, was there to take pictures at all of their favorite places in Kansas City. The final stop on the photography tour was a winery for a private tasting before a planned family dinner. As they walked into the venue, Machella was surprised by all of their friends and family. Keaton had flown in both of her sisters, out-of-town friends, and each of their families to celebrate the engagement. They cannot wait to share this special moment with everyone! See you in KC!!
