We worked at the same restaurant—me as a waitress, him as a cook—but we never really talked. One day, Eric thought it would be the funniest thing to throw a French fry at me. I gave him a weird look but ignored it and continued with my shift, having no idea that the man behind the fryer would one day be the love of my life. A year or so later, Eric came across my Instagram and, thinking I looked familiar, sent Emily (his step sister) a screenshot, asking, “Do I know her?” As it turned out, I was friends with Emily before I ever met him. With that little push of confidence, he messaged me, and from that moment on, everything just fell into place. What started as a simple message turned into late-night conversations, endless laughter, and the kind of love that feels like home. Over the past seven years, we’ve built a life together—one filled with inside jokes, adventures big and small, and our three cats, Charlie, Leo, and Millie, who rule our house and keep us on our toes. Looking back, it’s funny to think how many times our paths almost crossed before they finally did. But as cliché as it sounds, we truly believe everything happens at the right time, exactly as it’s meant to.
