Garrett & I went to lunch and he dropped me off at home because he had a 'meeting at church’. When he dropped me off, he handed me an envelope that contained a letter and a picture and he had specific instructions to look at the note on the back of the picture, but NOT to look at the letter inside. Golly- that was tough... The note on the back of the picture mimicked the words he used when he asked me out on our first date. Only this time, he was asking to take me on a walk down memory lane by revisiting three of our most memorable dates. I had hoped that a proposal was coming, but found myself completely devastated when my mom told me he hadn't asked for my dads blessing yet. Later I found out that was not true. I settled for the thought that the night was simply going to be made up of a fun scavenger hunt. Although, in the mix of the confusion, I decided to go ahead and get my nails done.. I mean, they needed it anyway, right? When Garrett returned that evening, I still felt very confused. I read the letter with him by my side and in it he explained to me that he was going to take me to three different spots that we had been to on previous dates and at each spot he would give me a picture and a letter telling me what he was thinking before, during and after each of those dates. He has a really sweet way with words. As the night progressed and the letters and pictures continued to be handed to me, I slowly picked up on what was going to happen... and I was so ready. When we got to his house, we went to his backyard where he so beautifully designed it for his dream proposal. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I could not believe it, and all I could say was "YES!" and "This is crazy!"

Earlier in the week, we planned to hang out with my sister & brother-in-law. I asked Garrett if anyone knew about the proposal and he told me no. Being the completely gullible girl I am, I believed him whole-heartedly. Family and friends from out of town, as well as, other friends and family were tightly packed into my sister’s kitchen. I was SO surprised to see so many people Garrett and I love. It made the night much more special to the both of us.
