Micaela and I met while both working at a summer camp in 2013. I thought she was cute. She thought I was a player. We didn't have much contact for the next several years. In 2016 Micaela started attending Southlands Fullerton. Our friend Maddy chased her down in the parking lot to introduce herself. Later that week Maddy started telling me about this girl named Micaela. I was like, "Hey I know her!" and the seed was planted. For the next several months I would periodically find myself scrolling through her Instagram feed. In January 2017 she posted a video of my oldest friend, in length of friendship not total age, Michael. I struck up a conversation, AKA slid in the DM, and asked her out to coffee. I wanted to go to Dripp, she said Cafe Veronese, much more romantic. We talked for a few hours, I paid, It was a date! - Andrew
Was this our first date? We're still in debate whether this was a date or not... Andrew and I had seen each other a couple times after our summer at camp but always in passing. When he had asked me to "catch up" over coffee, in my head I thought he was cute but was in no way thinking he was interested. I think I even told a friend before hand that it was absolutely not a date. I was definitely intimidated by him on our first date and even the few dates after. But I loved how freely we could jump from one topic to the next and how much he made me laugh! When I left I still thought he was not interested by his "too cool" demeanor. But when a friend asked me how it went, I told her "I wish all my friendships could be like that". Which really meant I just wanted this one ;)
