Bailey was tutoring Sam’s roommate in college, Ferg, in calculus during their sophomore year and Bailey’s freshmen year. Ferg asked Bailey and her roommate Jenn if they wanted to come with them to get Taco Bell. When we pulled up to pick up Sam, he tripped over a sprinkler in the yard at his friend’s house only to find out there were girls in the car. Sam was embarrassed and hoped that they didn’t see. Fast forward to the next school year when Sam was frequently buying Bailey food and coffee to win her over. Slowly but surely, he did. A couple months later, he asked her to be his girlfriend in the parking lot of Don Patron, a Mexican restaurant that they frequent, and the rest is history. She did not see him trip over the sprinkler!
All of the girls in our friend group played it off like they were having a girl's day. They did their nails and went shopping for new tennis outfits to go play with the boys later in the day. Sam and the boys got dressed in polos and said they were going to play like it was Wimbledon and headed to the tennis courts. Once the girls got to the courts, Sam came out and tried to convince Bailey to come "help him pick up balls." Bailey put up a fight saying "I'm going to ruin my shoes in this mud!" She ended up going all the way over where Sam pointed out the many sentimental places that you could see from the tennis courts. Saint Vincent, where we first met, where we had our first kiss, where we said I love you for the first time. Sam said the only place we're missing is where I propose. He got down on one knee and said "Will you be my wife?" All of our friends rushed toward us screaming in excitement!! We celebrated the rest of the evening with them having happy hour, followed by a surprise dinner with our parents at our favorite restaurant, Touchdown Club, and going out to our favorite bar, The Ash Club. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you! See you soon!
