Big Talbot Island State Park
Explore the diverse island habitats by hiking Blackrock Trail to the shoreline, Big Pine Trail to the marsh, or Old Kings Highway and Jones Cut through the maritime forest. Launch a boat from the north end of the island to fish and tour the salt marsh, or rent a kayak and take a guided paddle tour with PADL, 786-749-6730. Kayak tours require advance reservation.
Fort Clinch State Park
A row of cannons pointing across the St. Mary’s River into Georgia are silent testimony to the strategic importance of Fort Clinch during the Civil War. Visitors can explore the fort’s many rooms, galleries and grounds, and learn about the life of a Union soldier through unparalleled living history programs.

And, last but not least, we love wandering the racks and displays at The Salty Local - you’re sure to find a cute new outfit, gift, or cheeky decor item. What’s a beach town without some live music? Wander historic downtown on a weekend night, and you’ll hear music wafting on the salty breeze from at least two directions. You’ll find local musicians playing at various restaurants and bars around town on most weekends, including The Patio at 5th and Ash, The Green Turtle Tavern, The Palace Saloon Shipyard, and Salt Life Food Shack.
