Lexie and I met freshman year at Carolina, when we were in the same Bible study and lived on the same floor of our dorm Hinton James. We were suitemates sophomore year and housemates as upperclassmen! She made sure I was prepped and ready (with my nails done!) for my engagement and has been by my side since the beginning of my relationship with James! This girl has a passion for all things lovely and she's what I would call my right hand (wo)man. I can’t imagine a better person to lead the #BrideTribe, and I am so excited for her to be there for mine and James' special day!

Philip Berg

Best Man

Philip “has a mom” Berg was my roommate sophomore year and part of my bible study the whole four years of college. Our friendship blossomed when he, Andrew and I competed in UNC’s Dozen Donut Dash in the Fall of 2015 to the detriment of our bodies. His love of man buns, lemon icebox night and pink zebra tank tops has no doubt inspired me to embrace my inner weirdness. His decision to live doing ministry abroad in East Asia has been a great example to see what it looks like to live out Christian faith. Jessica and I are ecstatic that Philip will be joining us on our Wedding Day!

Olivia and I met through our mutual friend Madeline on the very first night of college! Little did we know on the fateful night at I <3 New York Pizza that we would become partners in crime (and a fun pair, if we do say so ourselves). Oli ("the O") has been a steady friend and encourager for the past few years, and I know that I can go to her with anything I ever need. James and I can't wait to see her sappy and wonderful self stand beside us at our wedding!

Micah Anderson

Micah Anderson, better known as “Looks like a baby without a beard guy”, has been around since Jessica and I started dating. Through the years Micah and I have grown closer through going to church together, getting lunches at Lenoir and having absurd late night Fortnite sessions. His openness and devotion to always put others first have been a great motivator in my life. He’s always been a great brother in Christ and I’m very excited he will be there when Jessica and I tie the knot!

Jess Gaul

Jessamine and I were roomies all four years throughout college- which means plenty of nights of weird conversations, late night snacking and watching scary movies together. Jess has one of the most calming presences, and I know she’ll be there for me to advise and encourage in case I ever go ~bridezilla~ over the next few months. She’s also going to display her angelic voice and sing for us on our special day, which James and I are very excited about! Jess = wedding day Beyoncé.

Andrew “College Dad” Migliardi is an awesome friend I’ve had the privilege knowing throughout my college years. He and his now wife, Maddy, provided a great example for Jessica and I as we developed our relationship while at UNC. Andrew is one of the most down-to-earth, humble and caring guys you will ever meet on this Earth and it’s an honor that he will be up there to celebrate with Jessica and I on June 8th!

Madeline and I have one of the coolest friendship stories ever. We actually met in high school on a trip called Teens Westward Bound- a 23 day trip out west with about 90 teenagers that started out strangers. I remember Dennis, our leader, saying “one day, some of these people will be your roommates, your bridesmaids...” It turns out that was 100% true. Madeline and I revived our friendship in college, through which we met each other’s roommates and became a close-knit group of pals. So thankful for this adventure buddy to join me on my biggest adventure yet!

The eldest of the quickly expanding Schap dynasty, Jeff, has demonstrated his vast wisdom and compassion for the younger Schaps. Jeff has always been more than a brother to me growing up, but also a great counselor and mentor through life’s experiences. He is always willing to share insight into my situations and give me advice to make better decisions. His passion to pursue God regardless of circumstances has overflown from his life into mine. I would, without a doubt, not be the man I am today without Jeff always being there for me. We are very excited he will accompany us on the big day!

G and I also met through Madeline (shocker!) freshman year, but really became friends when we decided to be suitemates sophomore year. G is so true to herself and has never once failed to crack me up when I’m in need of a laugh. She’s opened my eyes to more pop culture references than I can count (have you heard of Flynt Flossy?) and I can’t wait to have her fun-loving self stand beside me on June 8th! I also 100% plan on her sweeping the dance floor at the reception, so get ready.

Another Schap bro to be joining us on this day is my awesome brother Jeremy. Never have I ever met someone so motivated by their faith to put God first in every single aspect of their life. Currently, Jeremy is living in Hamburg, Germany doing ministry on a local college campus there. His vast knowledge of old movie/TV quotes never ceases to amaze. I’m thankful of the great impact he’s made and continues to make on my life! We’re so glad he’ll be making the trip home to celebrate with friends and family on the wedding day!

I met Ashley through our sorority Pi Beta Phi sophomore year. Both of us quickly realized that we weren’t typical ‘sorority girls’ and bonded through cocktails, socials and hours spent practicing for recruitment. She is such a special soul and I am so thankful that our friendship thrived outside the Pi Phi House and has continued into post grad life! I will definitely be recruiting her personal trainer expertise when “sweating for the wedding.” I am so grateful to have such a sweet friend by my side on our wedding day!

Josh is one of my best friends ever since the Fall of freshman year. Having the same Actuarial Career as myself, I’ve always been very fortunate to have Josh studying and taking exams alongside me. Even though we never won any intramural championship t-shirts together, our shared interest in literally any sport has been a great outlet whenever I was bogged down with school and exams. Though now he’s a couple states away, he’s been a great friend, always willing to talk about anything. We’re very excited he’ll be there to celebrate Jessica and I next Summer!
