In early August of 2025, during a family trip, Brandon asked Hailey's dad and family for their blessing before coming home and buying the ring. He planned to propose that October, and somehow managed to keep it a secret the entire time, despite constantly having to move the ring around because of Hailey's cleaning and re-organizing she likes to do. A few months later, Hailey and Brandon went on a hunting day trip up in the mountains, a trip Hailey thought was completely normal but Brandon admits he had no real plans of hunting that day. Instead, Brandon spent the entire time nervously looking for a perfect proposal spot- making Hailey hike much further than needed, something they still laugh about now. When they finally stopped, Brandon pointed off in the distance, pretending he saw something, and while Hailey was distracted looking for deer, Brandon secretly got down on one knee behind her. Hailey's stomach completely flipped and Brandon barely got through his speech before she said yes! Hailey genuinely had no idea that the proposal was coming that day and was so surprised. After sitting and admiring the ring and Hailey asking a million questions at once, they made the (long) hike back to the truck, where they spent the rest of the time Facetiming family and friends to share the exciting news!
