Our good friends Jen and Drew Hall own and operate this craft beer and wine bar in the heart of SF's Mid-Market neighborhood. CC not only worked there part-time, but you can typically find me there after work on most Fridays. Tasty bar eats include truffle popcorn and a family-recipe citrus olives mix.
This is easily the best deal in SF for amazing food, drinks and fun. I strongly recommend getting the English cut, medium-rare with the creamed spinach and a loaded baked potato. You will have food leftover, so come hungry! If you think you might want to visit, it's best to make a reservation ASAP as the place is always busy, though you can always get on the list at the door to be seated at the bar when space opens up.
This is a world-famous tiki bar. There is no sign on the exterior of the building, but Google Maps can get you there pretty well. The interior is as bright and gaudy as you'd expect from a tiki bar; there's even an indoor pool (not for swimming, only decoration!).
Great food, even better cocktails. This little spot on the opposite side of the block from the Beer Hall is one of our favorites and the staff at Madrigal formerly Corridor often frequents Beer Hall, so we've become friends with many of them.
This is the best Chinese food you'll ever have (it's better than anything that's even in Chinatown!) and the prices cannot be beat. The owner, Lilly, and her husband are the only employees and are both amazing. Come hungry and order your food family-style so everyone can try out a little bit of everything.
Some of the best donuts in the city! Warning: There will almost certainly be a line, possibly out the door.
Amazing vegan food!
