We met while at work! I recently began a new job on the Adult Psychiatric Unit at the hospital and noticed Josh, developing a crush on him. Unfortunately Josh was already dating someone. Much to my surprise (and of course delight) that relationship ended. After plenty of conversations and harmless flirting at work, Josh finally messaged me to ask about a class for school (sly dog). After many evening conversations that lasted way into early hours of the morning, Josh finally asked me on a date. Although he still would say it wasnt a date. Josh asked me to Brunch at Market At Main by saying "You seem like good company for brunch". Needless to say, I was great brunch company! Our relationship started out on side hugs, and watching the office 5 feet away from each other on the couch. 2 years later, weve finished the office, Josh gives the best hugs, and weve become each others favorite person. We cant wait to celebrate forever with all of our closest family and friends and have you all support us on the rest of our journey through life as a married couple!
Josh was adament on taking me to dinner and then going for a walk at our favorite park in Lynchburg. However, the day had gotten away from us and as we were getting ready for dinner, I made the comment that if we went to dinner first, it would be dark. Josh really wanted to go to the park so we decided to go walk first. This park has been special to us because it is peaceful, less trafficked, and is where Josh and I had our first conversation about marriage. While walking Josh carved our initials in a tree, and then led us to a place to sit by a creek. We began talking sentimentally which is not uncommon for us (were mental health counselors, we love feelings!) At one point, I turned to Josh and interrupted him to explain that it was getting dark and we were a 10 minute walk into the woods. Josh agreed but said he had to do something first. He got down on his knee and asked me to marry him! I was so surprised and began crying of course. My next question for him was were we still going to dinner? We did but chose the less fancy route and went to our good and faithful Taco Bell to celebrate
