We met by chance at Lady Bird on the Atlanta beltline, through a mutual friend, now one of the bridesmaids. At the time we didn't think much about it, but three weeks later, we each reached out to that mutual friend the same day unknowingly, to ask about the other person. That same week, we went on our first date in Birmingham, AL. That's pretty much when we thought, "this is my forever."

After months of long distance, we decided to make Atlanta, GA our home. After packing up everything in Birmingham, AL, we traveled to our new home in Decatur, GA. John drove ahead of me with the U Haul, while the dogs and I trailed behind. I made a pit stop to drop the dogs off for a grooming appointment, so John could do the walk through and begin unpacking before I arrived. I pulled up to the house, grabbed all of my ferns in one arm and headed to the front door. I opened up the door to John on one knee surrounded by candles and flowers. I couldn't drop my plants fast enough. The shock and excitement overwhelmed me to the point that I was speechless, which we all know, never happens. After processing the question, I said "YES! But does my dad know?" We are very excited to share this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Knoxville!
