The happiest day of my life came that winter night when I met him during a friend's birthday party. It was thanks to his best friend - Miguel, that we met because he brought Gery to the party. It was a great party with great friends. I remember cocktails in fancy glasses, the vivid light shining on the walls highlighting the artworks, music soothing the atmosphere while the background was filled with smiles and laughter. The night was a bit of a blur yet it was a remarkable one with an even more remarkable ending because that night I would eventually meet the love of my life. During our introduction, I was less than certain about him but once I got to see a hidden side of him, my perspective I had of him eventually changed. His tenderness, love, and care could not be matched. Eventually, after requesting my number more than once I had to give him a chance. And now years later, we are getting married.

The meaning behind my diamond is very important to me because he got it all the way from Burma, a country in Asia where I was born.

After we had a very romantic and wonderful dinner at a place where we had our very first date, we went to the Sunroom at the Gathering Place which is this great room with giant windows all around and multiple cozy fireplaces and amazing nightly views of the park. It was very crowded at first. He patiently waited as we reminisced on the wonderful years of our relationship and all the great memories we made together; this moment reminded me again that there is nowhere else and no one else I rather be with. As the crowd diminished almost as if it was planned, we walked toward the fireplace where exactly at 9:45pm under the fire light he got down on one knee and asked if I would marry him to which I said “Yes.”
