Poodle Parade

The annual Poodle Parade will take place on Saturday morning - look out for dressed up poodles and owners! Parade starts around 9:30!

Point Lobos State Natural Reserve

State park about a 5 minute drive from Carmel with easy day hikes and some of our favorite views! We recommend going early when it opens at 8am to get parking.

Big Sur

The drive along Highway 1 from Carmel to Big Sur is beautiful with plenty of scenic stopping points along the way. It's about a 1 hour drive down to Nepenthe (cafe + restaurant with amazing views). Some of our favorite stops: Point Lobos, Garrapata State Park, Bixby Bridge, Pfeiffer Beach and Nepenthe for a snack or lunch! You will lose service about 10 minutes south of Carmel so we recommend downloading maps in offline mode!

Pebble Beach + 17 Mile Drive

You can drive through Pebble Beach along 17 mile drive to see iconic coastal views, beaches and golf courses. Entry fee of $12 due at entrance gate unless you have a reservation for a restaurant or golf. Our favorites for food are Hay's Place and the Bench, which has views of the famous 18th hole!
