That was the original plan, and we're still enamored by that venue, but Pt Defiance has been cancelling all rental events for a few months now. As the rules keep changing, and Covid is still a threat, we've found Christianson's Nursery in Mount Vernon to be a fantastic alternative. We can still be outside and keep our social distance. We're able to control a lot of things at this venue to keep everyone safe while celebrating. Please join us online if you can, we're having to cut back on the amount of guests we can host.
We are registered on Amazon and on Zola. The amazon registry is located here: https://www.amazon.com/wedding/saylah-leu-ben-gregoire-tacoma-september-2020/registry/29MKAWZCY6791
Ben and I realize this has been a great time of uncertainty for everyone. We are monitoring the local news daily and we are hoping for the best. We plan to take precautions at our wedding in our seating, how we serve meals, and overall hygiene. For those coming out of state, we realize that is an additional layer of stress with travel, accommodations, and the ever changing local and state rules. While Ben and I would love to have all of our love ones present, we want to affirm each family's decision to do whatever is best for them. We will be offering a live stream option of our ceremony so you can celebrate from afar. As of mid-July our plan is to press forward with a smaller wedding up at a different venue as local restrictions here in Washington are tightening. We know this pandemic is not going away anytime soon and Ben and I are eager to marry each other. For more specific information please reach out to Ben or myself and we will be happy to talk to you about more specifics.
Ben and I are getting married at the Christianson's Nursery. There is a plenty of parking. We've reserved the rose garden and schoolhouse areas towards the South end of the venue. The Nursery itself will be open during our wedding but we'll have private access to it as well around 6pm.
Our ceremony will start at 4pm. People arrive about 30 minutes prior to give yourself adequate time to park and be seated. If you come really early, there's a lot of see at the Nursery/Garden if you're into plants. There's even a llama and some goats! :)
Yes. Please wear a mask. We have about 50 white kn95 masks, and 40 grey disposable masks available if you need one, but we need everyone to be safe. The Nursery is big, there will be spaces to get away and breathe freely if you really need. We will be spacing out the seating where households are sitting together. We'll have a lot of hand sanitizer and single serve items.
Kind of, we plan to do a few reception activities after the ceremony like food, a photobooth, first dance... We will be keeping everyone somewhat distanced though, I wouldn't expect anything like dancing with people you didn't come to the wedding with, or clinking drinks together like a normal wedding. We want it to be a special day, but need to stay responsible.
We're having a few friends do the catering. All the options will be individually packaged. Buffet style is too dangerous. There's going to be an excessive amount of hand sanitizer as well. We're needing to re-book a food truck, but we're aware of the need to accommodate for vegetarians and Gluten free.
