Things To Do

One of our favorite things about DC is that you will never run out of things to do here! The monuments are magnificent to see in person and the museums are unparalleled. Here are just a few of our favorites.

Old Town

Alexandria, VA

Stroll down King Street to the waterfront. There are plenty of cute shops, art galleries, and ice cream shops along the way. You can even catch the water taxi at the dock to take your adventure nautical.

National Mall

Washington, DC

This is a no brainer. Just to walk from the Capitol, past the Washington Monument, and down to the Lincoln Memorial never gets old. It can be a long afternoon if you are trying to see all of the monuments on foot- so jump on a hop on hop off tour bus, take a Segway tour, or grab a capital bikeshare bike.

Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum

600 Independence Avenue Southwest, Washington, DC 20560
, (202) 633-2214

We love it here! One of the coolest places in DC and a must see if you like planes or space. No entry fee.

Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History

10th St. & Constitution Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20560
, (202) 633-1000

You can never go wrong with the Natural History Museum. A little bit of everything from the natural world- from the completely renovated dinosaur exhibit to a live butterfly tunnel to the Hope Diamond. No entry fee.

International Spy Museum

700 L'Enfant Plaza Southwest, Washington, DC 20024
, (202) 393-7798

A place near and dear to both of our hearts, this museum allows you to become a spy and take on a mission as you learn about the clandestine side of public service. There is an entry fee.

Mount Vernon- George Washington's historical home

3200 Mount Vernon Memorial Highway, Mount Vernon, VA 22121

See where one of our Founding Fathers called home. You can tour George Washington's house, learn how his farm was run, and see where he was buried.

National Archives Museum

701 Constitution Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20408
, (202) 357-5000

See the founding documents of our country in person before Nicholas Cage steals them again!

For all the days along the way
