Him: We met in primary school (Victonell), back in 2005 when my family moved to Nakuru. We became good friends though it was short-lived as we both transferred to other schools. Her: No guys, we did not start courtship in 2005. Chill we’re getting there! After 2006, we lost touch and only reconnected way later in 2012. I happened to feature in the high school magazine (Insyder) and the Mr spotted me. They were in the same class with my primary school classmate who then shared my contacts. Sam reached out during the holidays and as much as I could remember his name, it was hard to place a face to it. Him: She refused to meet up with me but who is God! That same day, I randomly bumped into her in Nakuru town 🕺🏾🕺🏾A short chat here and there revived the friendship which blossomed beautifully in no time. We became the best of friends talking every now and then. Our mutual sense of adventure was a strong bonding moment. Her: Remember that random hike at Crater? (Hi Hilly & Ron) Him: Yeah, that was so fun and cooold! We really did start trotting ASAP! It was all fun until you decided to friendzone me 🙄🙄 Her: Well, I never imagined a romantic relationship with you up until you confessed your feelings towards me. I was afraid in the event it didn’t work out it would interfere with our beautiful friendship. However, we did agree to put a pause on it and revert at the end of the year when we would be done with high school. At least you jumped out of the friendzone 😜😉 Him: Short story, we started dating on 7th March 2015 and had our first official date one Sunday at Machakos people’s park 3weeks later. 10yrs later we are still chasing the sunset in different counties, countries and even continents. It has been a wonderful journey so far with the highlight being able to grow together and holding each other’s hand through the wins and losses. Her: Babe are you not going to tell them that you fasted for me while I was in theatre back in 2017? Him: Shhh they don’t need to know that! But is that the real version? Her: 😂😂😂😂😂 Where were we? Yes, our journey. 10yrs of growth and love and a lot of memories so dear to us. I’ve become a better person through this relationship and I have no doubt that he’s the one I want to to travel the marriage continent with.
