Renée and Ryan met while attending college at The University of Maine in Orono during the early spring of 2018. Ryan was a sophomore and was living in the dorms across from where Renée was living freshman year. Renée noticed Ryan as he was working at the York Dining Hall as a busboy. With the help of some great friends they met at one of the trail rides for Ryan’s off-roading club. They spent the entire day getting to know each other, and the rest was history.

Ryan and Renée got engaged in old Quebéc city, Canada, in the winter of 2022. Ryan suprised Renée at a park under the Chateau Frontenac and overlooking the Saint Lawrence River. The two enjoyed a romantic getaway in the old city to celebrate the proposal.
