I knew that Savion was a suitable match for my beloved sister by the honorable way he carried himself. My sister and Savion are a lovely God-fearing couple and I know that their union will be a blessed one! I'm very excited to be a part of their celebration!!

The first time I met Savion, we had just signed the next 9 years of our lives to the US Navy. As the only other black man in the room, there was an unspoken bond between us…literally. It took us a minute to actually talk to each other, but when you’re both dying in the back during early morning PT, there’s a lot of chances to interact. Despite growing up on two completely different coasts, the more we interacted, the more we realized just how similar we were. Since then, our friendship has grown into an unshakeable brotherhood. I didn’t have any siblings growing up, but after these last 11 years, I understand what it’s like to have a brother. I'm excited to witness him make this lifelong commitment with Elyce. Elyce and I met during our freshman year of college at TCNJ. Our friendship blossomed while we pursued Christ and spent hours deep in conversation. Although my path only crossed with Elyce’s for a single year in college, our friendship surprisingly strengthened in the years that followed. Despite the distance, Elyce and I prioritized making trips to see one another and staying updated in each other’s lives. I’m incredibly thankful to God that He ordained for Elyce to enter my life. Her friendship has held me accountable, allowed me to be deeply vulnerable, and provided room for me to share my successes and failures. I can undoubtedly say that I love Elyce and she is one of my dearest friends. I pray that God blesses Elyce and Savion’s union for many years to come!

I’m so happy to watch you grow mature and accomplish everything you talked about when we were kids. Savion and I met back in medical school but got closer when he was helping guide me towards residency. He has always been a great guy who was willing to help anyone in need and has always been growing stronger towards his faith. He is also a great drinking partner 😂 and we have shared many laughs together. When he met Elyce, he would say that she was the right person for him over and over again, and now he gets the chance to be with his right person for life. I’m happy for both of you and wish you all the best that life can bring.

I am honored to be Elyce's cousin and now bridesmaid. Growing up, I always admired Elyce's brilliance and elegance. One of my favorite memories is our amazing trip to California with our beloved Grandmother. There we visited Disney, went to the beach, and wore matching outfits like twins. : ) When I met Savion at their engagement dinner, I knew they were meant to be! Meeting Elyce was a divine encounter! Besides simply meeting at church for the first time, learning and growing in our faith is truly a bond that cannot be broken, and I am so glad it was forged. Having a friend like Elyce is actually like having a sister; that's exactly who she is! Elyce is a truly generous and kind person, willing to pray and laugh and laugh some more at exactly the right time. Being able to celebrate her marriage to Savion is just as divine because I am so excited to be a part of their lives and witness the amazing things God is doing through them and for them. Prayer, laughter, prayer, and laughter again. When I met Elyce, I had no clue that I was meeting my new sister. We established a prayer group and those meetings were the foundation of what transitioned us into our young adulthood. With no transportation of our own, we found ways every other weekend to hang out. We would discuss our families, our hopes, school, our concerns for the world and sought the word of God for the answers. God's timing is always right. I am glad that the Lord answers prayers, leading you both together. Elyce and Savion, my sister and new brother, I pray the Lord showers his blessings abundantly over you. I celebrate you both. When Elyce and I first met at TCNJ freshman orientation, I didn’t know that a beautiful sisterhood would form but I’m thankful that’s what God had planned from the beginning. Elyce has a light that shines so brightly that it enriches the lives of those she encounters. I admire her heart for God and her constant pursuit of Him in all circumstances. Her willingness to step out on faith is inspiring. Her compassion for others is unmatched. I’m so happy that my friend has found the one whom her soul loves. I’ve seen how God has used Elyce and Savion’s love to create a virtual ministry in a pandemic that covers others in prayer. I met Savion on the first day of orientation of medical school. Being only two of a few African-American men, we became very close friends very early. Throughout our time together at UNC, we had many unforgettable times, many of which we still laugh about till this day. Although we have gone our separate ways, our friendship remains just as strong. We quickly realized that it would be one of those life-long friendships, whether we would communicate daily or monthly. As much as I've come to know Savion, I know that Elyce is the perfect match for him. I wish the two of you a lifetime of happiness and can not wait until we share our lost stories on the golf course or even on some extravagant friends vacation.
