In early June 2018, Wade and Savannah met for the first time in an elevator- both on their way to report for Day 1 of an internship program where they would be coworkers for the summer. As it turns out, this was not their first time in the same room together. On numerous occasions throughout their college years Wade had been a spectator at the same Arkansas football and basketball games where Savannah was cheering with the Razorback Pom Squad (we believe the first such instance was the 2015 Arkansas 7A State Basketball Championship in Hot Springs where Savannah was a proud North Little Rock Wildcat Cheerleader and Wade was a devout Bentonville Tiger fan. NLR would emerge victorious that day). Wade and Savannah worked together for seven weeks over the summer of 2018. It was not until the final week, when Savannah was wrapping up her internship early to be in Fayetteville in time for the start of Pom training camp, that Wade mustered up the courage to ask her on a date (at which point they were no longer coworkers, avoiding a potential HR hazard). Fortunately, Savannah said yes, and the two quickly fell for one another. During their final year of college, Wade and Savannah dated long distance and traded off making the drive between Dallas and Fayetteville as often as they could. After graduation, both Wade and Savannah moved to Little Rock and enjoyed two years of being 'together' for the first time. Wade eventually took a new role which portended another stint of long distance with his move back to Dallas- until… Wade proposed to Savannah at the Capital Hotel in Little Rock in February 2022 (before her birthday, as she had stipulated many months earlier), making the drive through an ice storm to make sure he didn’t have to 'reschedule.' After dinner, Wade took Savannah to the mezzanine level of the hotel where there was a beautifully curated setting (thanks Lisa) waiting for them to become engaged- so perfect, in fact, that Savannah stopped in her tracks thinking the two were intruding on someone else's engagement. To her surprise, it was actually hers. We cannot wait to celebrate with all of you at our wedding ceremony and reception in December. Cheers!
