Captain Cook State Recreation Area
Gorgeous beach with a great view of the mountains about 30 minutes north of Kenai. Make sure you check the tides before you go!
Homer Spit
Homer is so beautiful and the Homer Spit is a great place to check out the local shops. There are many great restaurants in Homer also. Homer is about an hour and a half south of Kenai. There are places to go on kayaking tours, fishing charters, and hiking. Definitely a must visit if you have never been.
Skyline Hiking Trail
Where we went on our first date! Great hiking trail, about 3 miles up the mountain. It is a hard hike, so be prepared. It is very rewarding hike though, the view from the top is amazing and if you are lucky you will find the notebook at the top where everyone has signed their names. The trail is about 45 minutes away from Soldotna on the Sterling Hwy headed towards Anchorage. It is a few miles away from Cooper Landing, so if you pass Cooper Landing, you have gone too far!

Great place to book a fishing charter! All the fishing guides are amazing! Book a fishing trip out of Kenai, Deep Creek (close to Homer), or Seward.
Fuller Lake
Great hiking trail up to a lake. Great place to pick blueberries in the fall. Watch out for bears though!
