We lived in the same dorm our freshman year of college. We would see each other in passing but we never went to the same parties together. One day we finally met in late October 2014 during a party in Matt's room. It wasn't until December that we finally had our first date and after that point we were always talking and hanging out. We built a friendship that turned into a loving relationship and that love has brought us to where we are today.
Matt decided to propose on my 24th birthday May 29, 2020. In the thick of COVID it was impossible to go out to dinner anywhere so we made a special dinner at home together. Following dinner we had a movie night since we usually go to the movies (my favorite activity) but once again the theaters were closed. For the entire movie Matt had this giant gift bag sitting on the table that I wasn't allowed to open until after the movie was over. Once it was over I was so excited he purchased me a Cricut Joy for my classroom. I noticed the card at the bottom and I went to go open it, but Matt said "well wait don't you want to take the Cricut out of the box?" I replied, "No it's rude to not open the card first." It was a cute card that folded open multiple times so I finally got to the end and Matt wrote a sweet message. At the very bottom it said P.S. I have a question for you. Then it hit me what he was about to do and I started crying and he got down on one knee and proposed to me. I absolutely said YES and now I can't wait to marry my best friend and soulmate.
