Our Story

We had always gone to the same schools growing up, but somehow, our paths never really crossed. We didn’t know much about each other, and honestly, there wasn’t much reason to change that—until fate (and a really cute puppy) stepped in. Guy had tried to talk to me a few times over Snapchat, but I always ignored him. That is, until February 2018, when he finally found my weakness—puppies. He posted a picture of his new puppy, Ruger, on Snapchat, and without even noticing who had posted it, I immediately swiped up to gush over the cuteness. One thing led to another, and soon we were talking all the time. When we started hanging out, we convinced ourselves that this was just going to be a casual summer thing. I was leaving for college in the fall, and Guy still had another year of high school. Our plan was perfect—we figured we’d hang out here and there, have some fun, and call it a day. Foolproof plan, right? Wrong. By early June, we had officially started dating. A lot of people doubted we’d survive the long-distance thing, and honestly, we weren’t sure either. But fall came, I went off to college, and we made it work. Guy visited as often as he could, I came home when I could, and after a long year, we finally ended up at the University of Arkansas together in 2019! Fast forward a few years (and 3 new puppies) to 2024. By early 2024, I had a feeling (and was really hoping) that a proposal was coming soon—we were approaching our six-year anniversary, after all! But as time went by, I pushed the thought aside, figuring it would happen when the time was right. That being said, I was still completely surprised when Guy actually popped the question. Which is crazy, because I usually know everything. It’s nearly impossible for anyone—especially Guy—to keep a secret from me! That weekend, I had so much on my mind. I thought I was coming home to celebrate my best friend Alexa getting her master’s degree, show off my brand-new car, and have a fun night with my girls—margs and a movie were on the agenda! On the way to pick up Anna Kay, she casually mentioned that I’d need to grab her from Namaw’s house because she was helping with her printer. I didn’t think twice about it (because let’s be real, Namaw always needs help with her printer). As we pulled into the driveway, I noticed Stacey in the front pasture with her camera set up. My mind started racing—That’s weird. Maybe she’s taking someone’s senior pictures? I was desperately trying to come up with any logical explanation, because I knew if I let myself think it was a proposal and it wasn’t, I’d be crushed. But then, I saw my dad in the side-by-side… and next to him was a white dress. That’s when it hit me. I instantly started crying—overwhelmed with excitement, happiness, and complete shock! I ran to my dad, who drove me down to meet Guy, and then I ran (miraculously without tripping) straight into Guy’s arms. It was the most magical moment, and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. Now, we can’t wait to start this next chapter together, and we are so excited to have all of you there to celebrate with us on our special day!
