Let's Get Married

Mr. Ruby always reminds Griffin and I that he’s the reason we are together. And he’s right. If it wasn’t for his restaurants, we may have never met. I was a Hostess at Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse Downtown Cincinnati, Griffin was an Essay at the Precinct. My first memory of Griff was when he stopped by the Downtown location one day to grab supplies. He immediately caught my eye. If you ask Griff, he doesn’t remember this but I do. I didn’t know his name at the time but, I remember how handsome he was with that one of a kind Griffin smile. Flash forward a couple years and Griff transferred over to the Steakhouse! Both in relationships, Griff and I became really good friends and always joked around at work. We would jokingly call each other “work wife” and “work husband” saying we would get married one day. Griff even gave me a coffee mug that said “Trophy Work Wife” which I still have to this day. Little did I know that mug would come true. Griff knew though, he said he knew from the first day we met, he would marry me. Flash forward a couple more years, we both were single and started flirting here and there. We started slow, grabbing drinks after a shift. Which led to grabbing lunch before work… which led to pretty much being inseparable. We fell in love fast and quickly realized we met our person. Griff asked me to be his girlfriend the week before his brother Nick’s wedding where I met his whole family for the first time. I was terrified. But Griff was so proud, introducing me to everyone never letting go of my hand. He even impromptu added me in his Best Man speech saying “This is Savannah, she’s the real deal”. You could only imagine how red my face was. On our 1 year anniversary, Griffin asked me to spend forever with him on the top of the One Lytle Hotel. I, completely shocked said YES! Griffin is my best friend and I couldn’t imagine spending this life without him. I cannot wait to become his wife.
