We’re getting married!

Savannah and Austin’s story kicked off in Norfolk, VA, during a classic St. Patrick’s Day weekend in 2021—because nothing says “fate” like a weekend full of green drinks and singing the Rattlin’ Bog. Savannah tagged along with her roommate Mykenzie and a few friends, while Austin joined his long-time friend from college, Taylor. Funny enough, Taylor and Mykenzie were childhood friends, and even funnier, Austin and Savannah had both gone to Liberty University without ever crossing paths. They met at a pre-game brunch, but with two friend groups hopping from place to place, they barely exchanged a “hello.” Later that night, though, they found themselves squeezed onto the same couch at a house party, making small talk that quickly turned into “Wait, you know them too?!” They discovered they had way too many mutual friends, had lived just a few houses apart in college, and yet somehow never met. But the real magic happened when Mykenzie, in full St. Patrick’s Day spirit, decided to channel her inner Coyote Ugly and started dancing on top of a bar. Savannah and Austin—who were the closest to the bar—took on “spotting duty” to keep her from face-planting. Somewhere between the chaotic balance checks and laughter, Austin turned to Savannah and grinned, “Well, this seems like as good a time as any to ask for your number.” And just like that, their journey began. From that night on, they talked every day. Savannah eventually made the trek to Lynchburg for their first official date, and by June, they were officially a couple. Austin moved to Wilmington, NC, while Savannah stayed in Arlington, VA, kicking off three years of long-distance drives, countless phone calls, and weekend meetups. Finally, in May 2024, Savannah traded city life for beach life, and the two were finally in the same zip code. Then, on January 10, 2025, Austin proposed during a casual beach walk, which he cleverly disguised as “shell-collecting.” Since then, they've been caught up in the whirlwind of wedding planning, and just to keep things interesting, they decided to add a little chaos to the mix by welcoming Pepper, their sweet (and occasionally mischievous) puppy. Now they are beyond excited to start their next chapter as a married couple, chaos and all!
