Honestly, if you ask us both separately how we met, you would get two different stories. We did meet when we were fifteen years old. Austin says that we met at the local gym at the time, BodyFit, in Eden. However, I believe we met through mutual friends initially. Anyways, we were nothing more than friends for about two years. After a few life events, the both of us connected in a deeper way than friends when we were about seventeen, and since then we never were apart.
I was so curious when Austin would propose. Every time I would ask him about it, he would simply just say "it's coming" because he did not want to ruin it by giving any details away. Early into August, Austin and I went on a small weekend trip to Washington D.C. with another close couple of ours. That Sunday, I was told we were driving to Bluemont Vineyard in Bluemont, Virginia. We were all running late to the reservation time at the vineyard, and I suggested we reschedule to the next day. Everyone in the car quickly said no to that idea. When we get checked into the vineyard, the hostess takes us to a private picnic on the hill overlooking the whole vineyard. We all ordered a glass of wine and a charcuterie board. Our friends had stepped away because they "had to use the bathroom." During that time, Austin got me up and walked me over to a small spot on the hill where we could take in the scenery better. He got down on one knee and proposed. It was perfect.
