The wedding ceremony, cocktail/tapas hour, and reception will all take place outdoors. The after party will be indoors at the hotel. The temperature typically ranges from high 50's to high 70's in May/June, so dress accordingly. We are hoping for a sunny day!
For those not staying at Hostal de la Gavina, we will have bus transportation arranged at the other recommended hotels (see travel page) to take you to and from the venue. Transportation will also be provided for the rehearsal dinner/welcome party. Timing of bus transportation will be announced closer to the wedding date.
The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:30pm. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to allow time for finding your seat at Senya Blanca (the hotel's private residence where the ceremony will take place).
Due to limited venue capacity, we are unable to accommodate plus ones unless it is specifically indicated on your invitation. If you have any questions or concerns, please text Alex and Savannah.
Although we adore your children, we regretfully cannot accommodate them at our wedding due to restricted numbers and space.
Catalan is the primary language spoken in the region, but most locals are also fluent in Spanish; so if you know any Spanish, go for it! But note that some locals (especially in more rural areas) may be averse to speaking Spanish or have limited Spanish proficiency due to the historical and political landscape of the region (see next FAQ). If you do not know any Spanish, do not worry! Hotels and restaurants in the area are accustomed to English-speaking visitors and will typically have staff that speaks English.
Cayalunya/Cataluña/Catalonia is an autonomous community in the northeastern corner of Spain (incl. Barcelona and Costa Brava). Although the Catalan Parliament declared independence from Spain in 2017, the referendum's legitimacy was controversial. Cayalunya is considered part of Spain today, but has its own local government, language, and some control over its community. Cayalunya has a rich history that is distinct from Spanish history - we recommend reading about it before you arrive!
