It was a hot summer afternoon, and CoEd summer softball league had finally started. Cade had been playing for the University Christian Church softball team for the last couple of years and knew everyone on the team. However, as everyone started to show up for the first game, someone new had joined the roster… Savannah was a very talented softball player and was well known for her speed and precision on the field. She was a college athlete excelling at every game where a ball was the center piece. She had been recruited to our team to help manage the outfield and catch pop flies. Cade, on the other hand, was not a college athlete. He was just a charismatic outfielder whose position happened to be right next to hers. Two outs, bases loaded.. the ball was pitched! SMACK!! The softball flew, racing through the clouds in the sky, soaring towards left/centerfield. Cade and Savannah ran towards the ball as fast as they could knowing how important it was to catch it with the game on the line. However, they had no regard of where the other person was. Before they knew it, they crashed into each other, falling to the ground, and leaving the ball laying in plain sight. The world went silent. Savannah and Cade didn’t move a muscle. There they laid, staring deeply into each other’s eyes - feeling like they had just opened the first chapter of a romance novel. After the game, they dove into conversation and exchanged playful banter, soon realizing how much they had in common. Their passion for sports, competitive spirit, and sense of humor made them an instant match. In the weeks that followed, Cade and Savannah's connection only deepened. They spent evenings on the phone talking, laughing, and discovering more about each other’s lives. Cade and Savannah were inseparable! As their relationship blossomed, they found that the softball field not only brought them together, but also served as a symbol of their shared passion of love that would mark the beginning of their beautiful journey as a couple, united by a single crash in the outfield.
