You know what they say... Moms know best! If it weren't for our moms constantly trying to set us up, well, we might not be where we are today. What started out as two young kids on a “forced first date” to go get Kona Ice in the summer of 22, ended up as two kids in love, finding their soul mate in each other, and building a beautiful life together. Everyday we are so thankful for being brought together, for the memories and laughs we get to create together, and the for the amazing mother-in-laws we got in the process!

Our first date was November 26, 2022! Lukas will tell you to this day that I tried to blow this date off and left him with less than an hour to get ready for it, and I will tell you that he's crazy! Our date began with dinner at Carrabba's in Lexington and ended with looking at some beautiful Christmas lights at the Kentucky Horse Park! The rest was history. We spent almost every weekend together, from picking up Lukas' boat and making countless trips to the store for it, to the towns Christmas parade, to college graduations and me studying for the NCLEX. We were nearly inseparable! From the very first "I love you" that slipped off Lukas' tongue like he had been saying it everyday of his entire life, I knew the future had so many wonderful things in store for us, even if Lukas didn't quite know it yet. The laughter and the love between us was like nothing we had ever experienced before, something straight out of a hallmark movie! Lukas finally made things official and asked me out on February 6th with a romantic gesture of lining the driveway in tea-light candles. Since that day we have celebrated a number holidays, birthdays, and family vacations together. We have achieved many milestones with each other, like both starting our careers, mine in the NICU and Lukas' in Maintenance, buying our first home and starting all the home projects! Each day is better than the day before and our love continues to grow stronger and stronger!

We have talked about marriage from nearly day one. We have always said, "When you know, you know" and quickly, we knew that we had found our soul mate in each other. Lukas had secretly asked Savanna's parents for their blessing in September of 2024 and bought the ring later that same day!! Lukas planned the most perfect proposal, and disguised it as their fall photos the following month. One pair of broken high heels, and lots of laughter and giggles later, we were standing on the bridge that will now forever hold a special place in our heart. Standing back to back, Lukas stepped away from me and got down on one knee. I turned around in sheer excitement to see my best friend and love of my life holding out the most beautiful ring I could have ever imagined, asking me to do him the honor of marrying him! Smiling, and slightly shaking, I said "Of course!" We sealed the proposal with a kiss or two, and I may or may not have told him that he was insane, while shouting excitements of getting to marry him! October 14th 2024 will forever be one of our favorite days, and we can't wait for the rest of forever together!
