We met through work! Louis was a security officer, and I worked in Registration at the hospital. At the time, masks were mandatory to wear at the hospital we worked for, so it took a while before Louis was able to really see my face without one. After a few weeks of talking every chance we had, I asked Louis why he hadn’t asked for my number yet… but he didn’t get a chance to answer, as he was called away to deal with a situation back in the Emergency Department. Or so he says… Anyway, a few days went by—it was a Friday night. He messaged me on social media and asked if I was bartending that night at the Boardroom. I sure was. Once he arrived at the bar, he met up with a good friend and did not sit in my section. But after a long night of making eye contact and teasing me after everything I did, I figured he had a pretty weird way of flirting—but I wanted to give it a try. So I ended up putting my number in his phone myself. Since then, he has been my best friend. I cannot wait to celebrate our marriage with our friends and family at the place that helped start it all.
