Kyle proposed on the one year anniversary of our wedding date! We had already planned to see The Nutcracker that evening downtown, so Kyle asked if I wanted to stop and visit Shoemaker Plaza down at Confluence Park. Throughout my life, Shoemaker Plaza has always been a special place for me as it is an area dedicated to my grandfather, Joe Shoemaker. Knowing what a special place it was for me, Kyle asked all our close friends and family to surprise us at the park prior to the ballet. Kyle and I's family put so much love into making the proposal an absolute fairytale come true and beyond my dreams! Surrounded by over one hundred candles and our loved ones, my best friend asked me to spend the rest of my life with him and I said YES!
