On Savanna's birthday she went to O'Briens with her family to celebrate. Derek won her family over with a joke about being the "Gingah ninga" before awkwardly slipping her his number when he thought she was leaving. When he realized she was staying he decided to buy her a drink and charm her some more.

At a family cookout to celebrate Savanna's graduation, Derek began to make a speech. Before she knew it he was down on one knee. Savanna couldn't even get out the word "Yes" before snatching the ring from Derek and placing it on her own finger. Needless to say, she was patiently awaiting this moment.
