We met through a mutual friend, Torri Lovett (see bridesmaids). Jordan was interested first, but I was unavailable at the time. Fast forward 7 months, Torri told me he was still interested, so I looked him up on social media, and he messaged me on Instagram. We instantly clicked, had our first official date 3 months later (at Magic Kingdom) and "the rest is history."
We had our first date at the Magic Kingdom on May 7, 2018. One year later on May 6, 2019 we celebrated a year of dating at the Magic Kingdom. I'm from Mississippi, and Jordan is from Florida, so *almost* every time I would go down to visit we would go to Disney for a day. It's our favorite place to spend a day date, and with it being where we had our first date it's pretty special to us as well.
On February 17, 2020 we had a day at Disney planned. We would be park hopping, and since it was a holiday, Jordan's family was going to be joining us! We started at Hollywood Studios to check out the new Galaxy's Edge and ride a few rides, and then we went to Magic Kingdom around lunch. We were supposed to be meeting Jordan's brother and his family at Magic Kingdom when we got there, so we stopped at the end of Main Street USA by Casey's Corner to wait. The plan was to take a group family picture before we all went our separate ways, so I went into the Firework's viewing area because it wasn't crowded and it looked like a good place for a group picture. Jordan comes to join me, Torri (yes, the one who set us up, who also happens to be an incredible photographer) comes from nowhere, stops in front of us and starts taking pictures. Jordan gets on one knee, tells me how awesome I am, asks me to marry him, and I say YES! I got to celebrate with a Dole Whip, so it was pretty much the best day ever.
