Hotel
Set along the ocean in the heart of Waikiki, the Halekulani is a serene and timeless retreat celebrated for its understated luxury and genuine Hawaiian hospitality. Known as the “House Befitting Heaven,” the hotel has been welcoming guests for over a century and remains one of Honolulu’s most iconic destinations. Its oceanfront rooms and suites overlook Diamond Head and Waikiki Beach, while the tranquil courtyard and century-old kiawe tree create a peaceful sense of place. Guests can relax by the mosaic-tiled pool, enjoy afternoon tea on the veranda, or dine at La Mer, Hawai'i's only AAA Five Diamond and Forbes Five-Star restaurant.

Nestled right on the sands of Waikiki, Moana Surfrider is often dubbed the “First Lady of Waikiki,” having opened back in 1901. With its storied white-columned façade, sweeping balconies, and a grand banyan tree in the courtyard, this hotel beautifully blends its historic charm with modern comforts. For guests attending our wedding weekend, it’s an especially attractive option: beachfront views, direct access to Waikiki Beach, and a feel of something lasting and elegant. The hotel has recently undergone renovations as well so the rooms look great!

Right next door to Halekulani, the Sheraton offers a fun and relaxed stay that’s great for families and groups. The resort features multiple pools, including an adults-only infinity pool overlooking the ocean and a large family-friendly pool area with a waterslide and plenty of space to lounge. It’s a lively, convenient option within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and the beach—perfect for guests looking to stay in the center of it all.

A couple blocks from the beach, the Laylow blends mid-century modern design with a relaxed island feel. The hotel features a saltwater pool, inviting outdoor lounge spaces, and an on-site restaurant and bar which features a DJ at night. It’s a great option for guests who want to stay close to the action.
Hotel
The Hyatt Centric offers a modern and convenient stay just a short walk from the beach, shopping, and restaurants. The hotel features sleek rooms with large windows (many with ocean or mountain views) and a relaxed rooftop lounge and pool area where you can unwind.
Hotel
Tucked in the heart of Waikiki, the Surfjack offers a boutique stay with a laid-back, retro-Hawaiian vibe. It’s known for its playful design, friendly atmosphere, and iconic “Wish You Were Here” pool. The hotel features cozy rooms with local touches and a great on-site restaurant and bar that make it easy to relax without going far. It’s a perfect option for guests who want something a little more unique while staying close to the beach, shops, and nightlife.
Travel Note
If you plan to explore beyond Waikiki or spend a day adventuring around O‘ahu, renting a car is a great option. However, we don’t recommend keeping one for your entire stay—most hotels in Waikiki charge high overnight parking fees, and the area is easily walkable with plenty of ride-share options nearby. For the best balance, consider renting a car only for the days you plan to travel outside of Honolulu to places like the North Shore, Kailua, or Kapolei.
