Zach and I actually went to the same elementary school, although we weren't really friends back then! Many years later we reconnected through Facebook and started talking. We went on our first date, over 7 years ago, and the rest is history!
We went to Estes Park for a quick weekend getaway. Friday night we went to our favorite spot in Estes for happy hour and talked to a bunch of locals and had a great night. Saturday we walked around the town and Zach said he wanted to make reservations at the Stanley Hotel for dinner. He was acting a bit strange all day, but I didn't think much of it. Before we went in for dinner Zach said he wanted to walk around the Stanley and look for something called the rose garden. We walked around for almost an hour taking pictures but we never did find it. When we got to the restaurant at the Stanley and gave them our name for the reservation the hostess made a funny comment of "Oh yes" in an excited voice, I just thought she was strange! Zach made reservations in a private wine room that sits just to the side of the main dining room and told me to order any bottle of wine that I wanted, this is when I finally started to think something was going on. Right after we ordered our meal Zach said he wanted to walk over to the bar to check the score of the football game, it was the playoffs! He really went out to tell the waiter to come in to take a picture in a few minutes. He came back and proposed! Apparently everyone that worked in the restaurant knew because they all came in to tell us congratulations. We finished off dinner, took a few more pictures, and then headed back to our cabin to watch a movie. We finished off our trip on Sunday with a short walk around the lake in Estes for some more pictures. It was a great weekend that we will never forget! :)
