What is the date and start time of the ceremony?

Answer

Our ceremony will take place on the 1st of August, 2026, with the ceremony beginning at 3pm.

Where is the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will be held in Stourton, Wiltshire, a small village in southwest England. The venue is at Stourhead Temple of Apollo, which is outdoors and involves walking between spaces.

Where is the reception?

Answer

The reception will take place at Stourton Memorial Hall, beginning at 4:30 PM. It is approximately a 10–15 minute walk from the ceremony location.

Are there accessibility accommodations?

Answer

Yes, for those who need accommodations there is a shuttle bus that holds 14 guests, a buggy service that holds 4 guests, bookable all-terrain scooters, wheel chairs, and stair climbers. There are also accessible toilets at visitor reception and the Spread Eagle Courtyard. Please contact us if any of these accommodations are needed so we can make sure they are booked in advance.

Can guests arrive early to look around the garden?

Yes! Guests are more than welcome to explore the garden before the ceremony.

Do guests who are driving need to pay for parking?

Answer

No, prior to the wedding day physical parking vouchers will be issued for guests to use.

Do guests have to queue upon arrival?

Answer

No, a member of the Stourhead events team will welcome guests outside visitor reception and guide the way to the ceremony.

What is the dress code?

Answer

We suggest garden formal / semi-formal attire. Think elegant dresses, suits, or dressy separates in lighter colors or soft florals. Please note: some areas are outdoors and involve walking, so comfortable, sensible shoes are strongly recommended.

Are heels allowed?

Answer

For preservation reasons, heels are not permitted in some historic buildings at the ceremony venue. Block heels, wedges, or flats are encouraged.

Is the venue outdoors?

Answer

Yes, the ceremony is primarily outdoors, weather permitting. The reception will be indoors.

What happens if it rains?

Answer

Our venue has a weather plan in place, and the ceremony will proceed rain or shine. We recommend checking the forecast and bringing appropriate outerwear if needed.

Will food and drinks be provided?

Yes! Dinner and drinks will be provided at the reception. Please include any dietary restrictions when you RSVP.

The reception will conclude at 12am. Taxis should be booked in advance for evening departures.
