For All Time

Alex and Karen met through a mutual friend in high school study hall. Alex made an impression with his quick wit and humor, Karen with her quirky awkwardness. Here the cornerstone of the relationship was laid when Karen spontaneously stuck her finger in Alex’s ear and he replied with “Joke’s on you, ‘cause my ears are dirty.” (You have to hear it in the voice he used I promise). The two drifted apart, the ear scenario remaining a core memory despite not keeping in touch. Fast forward about 10 years later to September 2020, when Karen and Alex reconnected via a dating app. On their first date, Alex bought Karen chocolate covered strawberries. And he bought her more chocolate on the second date, and the third, and so on, quickly kindling the fires of love. Karen and Alex bonded through love of music, tabletop games, pokemon, and cats, and still enjoy all of these things together (especially cats, sending frequent pictures back and forth of their babies Riley and Finn). Alex proposed in September 2024 while playing a game with friends of “Blood on the Clocktower.” Karen said yes and now their story continues.
