Joe and Jess met in 2018 while working together at the Marshall University School of pharmacy (in case you hadn't Herd). They immediately started spending time together outside of work, and it didn't take long for Joe to want to make things (Facebook) official. After that, Joe and Jess spent the next two years going on adventures around the Huntington area, West Virginia, Ohio, and the Outer Banks. It was during their vacation with some of Jess' family in the summer of 2020 that Joe realized there was something missing in their relationship -- an engagement ring. Upon returning, Joe began the process of finding the perfect ring and planning the perfect proposal. After weeks of searching and planning, disaster struck. Ten days before Joe planned to propose, he broke his ankle and derailed his own plan. However, Joe came up with a back up plan and on the eve of their 2 year anniversary he proposed to Jess at the Columbus zoo in front of her favorite exhibit, the penguins. Now the only thing they have left is to say "I do" and live happily ever after.
